The former Czech World No.1 tennis player won 8 grand slam singles titles and 94 tournaments overall during his 17-year tennis career from 1978 to 1994. His career prize money is totalled as $21,262,417, which makes him the 9th All-time leader in earnings.

Ivan became Murray's coach from the start of 2012 after Australian coach Darren Cahill contacted him in December 2011.

So far, Ivan has only coached Andy Murray. When not coaching, Ivan likes to spend his time playing golf. He has five daughters with his wife Samantha Frankel. Three of his daughters are professional golf players.
