Who was the oldest player to play in Wimbledon?

The oldest player to ever play in Wimbledon is a man called Gordon Burdfield. He was born in 1922 and has been playing tennis for over 80 years.

He started playing tennis in 1935 aged 13 and reached the peak of his career in 2003 competing in over-80s Championships at Wimbledon.

Gordon is a retired office worker but continues to play tennis 3 times a week and has been a member of the Virgin Active Group for 21 years.
