Since your question was posted there have been two pieces of news about Steve Darcis. The first, and a shock to many, was that he beat Rafael Nadal in the first round of Wimbledon in June 2013. He defeated Nadal, the world no. 5 who would normally have been a strong contender for the title, in straight sets.
However, the next item of news was that Darcis himself was out of the tournament after one round - due to a shoulder injury which has left him unable to play.
Both these events have brought Darcis into the news - before this, a lot of people hadn't heard of him. He is a professional tennis player from Belgium and is now 29 years old. The highest ranking he has achieved so far is world no. 44, but that was several years ago now. At the time when he beat Nadal, he was ranked about 135th in the world.
