Who was the last British to win mens singles in Wimbledon?

Since 1936, no British man has won the singles event at Wimbledon. Fred Perry, at the age of 27, was the last British player to win the men's Wimbledon championship. And he also won 1934 and 1935 Wimbledon Championships.
Interestingly, Perry only turned professional after three years as the world No. 1, and three consecutive Wimbledon Championships.
