The age gap between Woody Allen and his third wife Soon-Yi Previn is 35 years. Soon-Yi Previn is adopted daughter of actress Mia Fallow and musician André Previn. Soon-Yi was adopted from Korea when she was eight years old.

Allen had a twelve year relationship with Mia Fallow since 1980. During their time together, Allen was seen as a father figure to Soon-Yi although he has never legally adopted her. The relationship between Mia and Allen ened in 1992 when Mia discovered the sexual relationship between Allen and Soon-Yi. At the time, Allen was 56 and Soon-Yi was 21.

Woody Allen was born on 1 December 1935, so at the time of writing this he is 76 years old. Soon-Yi Previn, his third wife, was born on 8 October, 1970 so she is now a few weeks short of 42.

Allen and Previn have been romantically involved since at least 1991, when she was 21 and he was 56. They married in 1997. Apart from the difference in their ages, which isn't so unusual (rich older men do quite often marry much younger wives) their relationship has always been controversial because Soon-Yi is the adopted daughter of Allen's former partner Mia Farrow, and he has known her since she was a child. He never legally adopted her and there is no suggestion that he was involved with her when she was under age, but still the relationship strikes many people as inappropriate, to say the least. It is said to be a major reason why Allen is now on bad terms with some of his children with Farrow.
