Picasso's most famous masterpiece is housed in the Museo Nacional Reina Sofia in Madrid (Spain).
The painting size is quite big and impressive. It was created as a protest against the bombing by the German and Italian airplanes of the town of Guernica in the Basque Country (North Spain) before the Spanish Civil War in the year 1937.The painting is in grey, black and white and its dimensions are 3.5 x 5.8 m. (11 x 25.6 ft.).
It reflects the horrors of war and it has become an international symbol of pacifism and peace.
The web of the Reina Sofia Museum is the following: www.museoreinasofia.es/
