According to Guinness World Records, 72 year old Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal is the shortest adult in the world with a hight of only 54.6 cm (i.e. 21.5 in). He beat the previous record holder - 18 year old Philippines Junrey Balawing who was measured as 59.9cm tall.

Chandra lives in a very remote village inside the Nepalese mountains, so he was not discovered until recently a forest contractor met him and informed the media.
