Blimey is an expression of surprise. It is an abbreviation of the word 'Gorblimy' or 'Cor Blimey', both of which are derived from 'God Blind Me'.

These words are 'Minced Oaths', i.e. Words that are allowable in fine company despite their (in this case) blasphemic origins.
