How many tennis balls are used during a Wimbledon tournament?

All the balls used in Wimbledon are Slazenger tennis balls, which are treated with a water repellent barrier to suit the rainy English weather.
Each year, over 50,000 tennis balls are sent to Wimbledon by Slazenger, and each ball has to be manually tested for bounce, compression and weight. The diameter of a tennis ball should be 6.35 cm, the weight should be 56.9g, and it should bounce between 53 and 58 inches. To keep the balls in perfect condition, they need to be preserved at 20 degrees Celsius.
In general, the balls are changed after the first seven games and changed again after the next nine games. This cycle is repeated until the end of a match.
