Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has a personal best of 10.7 seconds for the 100 metres, and is officially the fourth fastest woman sprinter of all time for this event.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1986 as Shelly-Ann Fraser, she won the Central American Carribbean Junior Championships in 2002 at the age of 16. She first achieved world fame when she competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She won a gold medal in the 100 metres, the first Jamaican woman to do this.
She won again in the Berlin World Championships in 2009, and in 2012 repeated her 100m gold medal triumph in the London Olympics. She also won two silver medals, one for the 200m and the other in the 400m relay race.
Fraser-Pryce is unusually small for a runner, being just 5 ft tall. She married her boyfriend Jason Price in 2011 and has worked as a goodwill ambassador for the UN.
