Rafael Nadal beat Novak Djokovic with the score 6-4, 6-3, 2-6,7-5, and won the French Open 2012 men's singles title. This is Nadal's seventh title at the Roland Garros.

Maria Sharapova won the French Open 2012 women's singles title by defeating Italian player Sara Errani with the score 6-3, 6-2. This is Sharapova's first victory at at Roland Garros and also enabled her complete the four Grand Slam singles titles (i.e. 2004 Wimbledon, 2006 US Open, 2008 Australian Open, and 2012 French Open).
