Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "How old are you?" in Korean in 3 ways:

  • Informal: myeot sal iya? (몇 살 이야?), nai-ga eotteokkae doi (나이가 어떻게 돼?), myeot sal ini? (몇 살 이니?), nai-ga eotteokkae doini? (나이가 어떻게 되니?)
  • Formal: myeot sal iyeyo? (몇 살 이예요?), nai-ga eotteokkae doiseyo? (나이가 어떻게 되세요?), nai-ga eotteokkae doipnigga? (나이가 어떻게 됩니까?)
  • Very Formal: yeonse-ga eotteokkae doisipnigga? (연세가 어떻게 되십니까?), chunchu-ga eotteokkae doisipnigga? (춘추가 어떻게 되십니까?)

- how old: myeot sal (몇 살), yeonse (연세), chunchu (춘추)
- you (subjective): ne-ga (네가), ni-ga (니가), neo-neun (너는), dangsin-eun (당신은), dansin-ggeseo-neun (당신께서는)
