Antibiotics are used to stop bacteria growing or kill them. Several common antibiotics have been developed and used in the daily life. For example, penicillin is used to breaks down cell walls; ciprofloxacin is used to stop DNA replication; neomycin, vancomycin and erythromycin are used to stop protein synthesis.

Unfortunately antibiotics does not work agains viruses.
