How can I become a professional football player?

The great thing is to keep playing - not only because you need to be in constant practice to reach the right standard, but because the way to get your first chance on the professional ladder is usually by being noticed as a player on a school team or in a local club.

A lot of national level football clubs are involved with local communities, and a big part of what they do in their communities is about spotting and encouraging the most talented young players. So if you are playing a lot in a good local team, you have a fair chance of being noticed if your playing is good enough. If you're still at school or college, you could also ask your sports teacher or coach for advice, since schools and colleges very often have links to clubs.

Look out for talent days as well, although these aren't so common any more, and have a look at these tips for more ideas. Good luck.
