Statistics like these put fishing, especially sea fishing, at the top of the list, and not far behind are industries like oil extraction, mining and construction (especially roofing). Pilots also have a dangerous job, and surprisingly to some, farming is also well into the top 10, because of the risk of injury from both animals and machinery. However, we only tend to collect statistics like these in rich countries where there are safety standards in place. In poor countries and those with little or no regulation, the death toll is likely to be much higher, but figures are also less likely to be accurate.
