There are three movies just called Spider-Man (1, 2 and 3), plus The Amazing Spider-Man which came out in 2012. There are also three TV movies and two TV series.
In other countries four other Spider-Man movies have been made - two in Turkey, one in Japan and the UK comic spoof, made for charity, 'Spider Plant Man'.
However, the list of films in this genre keeps growing because now so many, often short films are made by fans and released on the internet. Some of these are serious and some are parodies, but there are at least 20 of them and more are expected.
The original Spider-Man was a comic book character, and there are also 6 animated series featuring the character, as well as various extras and spin-offs.
