How many missions have landed on the moon?

There have been a total of 45 missions that have reached the moon:
- 25 sent up by the US, 6 of them manned
- 14 missions executed by the USSR
- 3 in the Japanese program
- and 1 each for the European Space Agency, India and China.
Of these 45 missions 19 landed successfully the other 26 were either planned crash landings or didn't quite make it in one piece.
