I don't know if you mean the strange new fashion in China, where some students are taking photos of themselves pretending to jump of bridges or similar. They say it's just a new form of expression, a last bit of fun before they leave university, but as the suicide rate in China is very high, many people feel this trend is in bad tast at best, or a bad influence at worst.

There is also a trend among some people to find pictures of actual suicides and post them. This is really sick, and the idea of choosing the 'most beautiful' one is even worse. These are real people who leave behind real families.

However, the trend for glorifying suicide is nothing new. The Romantic movement in the 18th-19th century was fascinated by the idea of suicide and it inspired works like Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther. You can get an idea of how writers and artists have treated the subject in a brilliant book called The Savage God.
