French is one of the most popular language in the World and has around 70 to 100 million native speakers and 190 million second language speakers. It is a Romance Language and is the second most studied one after English.
French is the official language of France,Monaco, the Romandy Region in Switzerland, Wallonia and Brussels in Belgium, and also Quebec and Acadia in Canada.
French is also official language in many countries and regions in Africa that used to be French colonies:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Republic of the Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwuanda, Senegal, Seychelles and Togo.
French is used as an administrative language in Algeria, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco and Tunisia.
In the American continent French is spoken in Haiti, Canada and the French territories of Guadalupe, Martinique, Sait Barthelemy, Saint Martin and Saint Pierre and Miquelon and French Guiana.
