We have: NaOH (sodium Hydroxide) and CuSO4 (Copper Sulfate)

When the 2 solutions are added, there is a reaction:

NaOH + CuSO4 ---> Na2SO4 + Cu(OH)2

However, if we look at the equation, we see that there is one too many "Sodiums" and one too many "Hydroxides" on the right hand side. However, notice how "Sodium Hydroxide" contains all the required components to balance the equation.

Thus we can easily balance the equation by having 2 NaOH molecules:
2NaOH + CuSO4 ---> Na2SO4 + Cu(OH)2
