So far Usain Bolt's fastest time for 2013 is 9.85 seconds for the 100 metres. He did this on 27 July at the London Anniversary Games, held in the Olympic Stadium to mark the first year since the start of the 2012 UK Games. This is slightly below his own record of 9.63 seconds, which is both his personal best and a world record for the 100 metres.

Bolt has said that he is very pleased to have finished the race in this time. He didn't start as fast as he usually does, but made up the time almost immediately. His next event is on Moscow starting on 10 August - he will compete in the world championships there. Although a former world champion, he previously lost the title after making a mistake at the start in 2011, so he is determined to win it back this time.
