Does coal mine still exist in the UK?

Coal mining has a long and important role in Britain's industrial history, which still exist in the UK. In 2010, 17.8 million tonnes of coal were produced from deep and opencast mines in the UK. Read more about Britain's coal mining here.
The UK’s largest producer of coal - UK Coal has three deep mines located in Northern and Central England. Its coal production provide around 5% of the country electricity generation.
