It really depends which bank you are using. If you have an account with Barclays, you are allowed to make a payment to an external account of up to £30k a day. If you have an account with Santander, you can make a payment of up to £100k a day. With Lloyds TSB and Halifax, the daily limit is £25k. The limit changes from time to time, so the best thing to do is to check with your bank first before making any big payment online.

You can find out which bank accept faster payments here. If you want to know the faster payment value limit for UK major banks , you can go to Payments Council site which is updated every week.

If you transfer money in between your own accounts with the same bank, they usually dont have any daily limits although they may have limits on per transaction.
