The Spanish expression "caramba" means "Good heavens" or "dammit" and is used to express surprise, annoyance, a sudden feeling of amazement and can be exchanged for "recorcholis" or "cielo santo" or "caray".

The origin of the expression is not clear as you can find a large number of different hypothesis. However, one of the origins commonly attributed to the word "caramba" goes back to the year 1750 in Spain. that year, a singer called Antonia Vallejo Fernandez, "la caramba", was born in Granada, Spain. When she arrived to Madrid as young singer she captivated the audience with her sweet and passionate flamenco voice.
