There is only one, the 2011 Puss in Boots starring Antonio Banderas. This is a spin-off to the Shrek films - the cat character, voiced by Banderas, became part of the series in Shrek 2, and has been so popular that he now has his own film, though it includes other main Shrek characters too. The film has been such a big hit that there will probably be more Puss in Boots movies to follow - it could even end up being more successful than the Shrek films themselves.

There is no film based on the original fairy tale as told by Charles Perrault. In this story, a very clever cat helps a poor young man to gain riches. The cat uses trickery, pretending that the young man is his master, the wealthy Marquis of Carrabas, and helps him bluff his way into gaining real wealth and marrying a rich wife.
