The Copts are the largest religious Christian minority in Egypt.
The name derives from (Hut-Ka-Ptah) which means Egypt and is one of the few the names of given to Memphis, the capital ciy of Egypt in ancient times.
At present, the Copts represent a 14-15% of Egypt's population.
This religious group, which is said to be 900 years old, sinks its roots in the city of Alexandria in Egypt, when evangelist Saint Mark imported Christianity to Egypt and began to spread it throughout the territory.
