Alicia Silverstone has been married just once. Her husband is Christopher Jarecki, a musician and basketball coach. They have known each other since 1997, in the early years of Silverstone's fame (though she became known early in her career for appearances like the Aerosmith videos, it was really with the release of Clueless in 1995 that she became a big international star.) They met by chance (Silverstone was about 21 at the time) and were together for another 8 years before finally marrying in 2005.

They have one child, a boy called Bear, born in May 2011. The little boy has been in the news lately due to stories that his mother has a habit of 'pre-chewing' his food.

Both Silverstone and her husband are very keen environmental and animal rights activists. Alicia Silverstone is a vegan and has campaigned for animal rights. The couple and their son live in a specially designed eco-friendly house.
