MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is considered to be one of the safest medical procedures at present. There is no evidence that magnetic and radio waves used in an MRI scanner could pose a risk to human bodies. Although MRI is very safe, it is not suitable for everyone. For example, people who have pacemakers or nerve stimulators implanted in the body.
Sometimes, people with tattoos which used ink containing metal need to cover it before the scan. MRI is also not recommended for women during their first 3 months of pregnancy.
For more information about who can not use MRI scan, you can check the NHS official site.
