The risk for esphageal cancer increases for people over 55 years old. This is the case especially for men.

A diet low in fresh fruits and vegetables can contribute to the development of esphageal cancer. Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables , whole grains can help to prevent esophageal cancer.
