Zsa Zsa appeared in some 28 movies but also appeared in many TV series which maintained her popularity, particularly in the US.

She is even better known for the number of husbands she has had. She is currently on her ninth and longest lasting matrimony - the shortest was 24 hours.

Gabor is known for her pithy quips and almost reached a state of self-parody with her use of the word 'darlink' to address almost everybody she spoke to. The glottal stop 'k' a charming result of her birth and early life in Hungary.

She seems to be the original celebrity - famous for being famous. She was often in scrapes with the law and as recently as 1990 (when she would have been either 72 or 69, or somewhere between - her birthdate is shrouded in mystery) she slapped a police officer for giving her a speeding ticket for which she served three days in the clink and did community service. One can't help thinking that the phrase - 'Any publicity is good publicity.' is ingrained in her being.

Getting back to her films, arguably her best was 'The girl in the Kremlin', a 1957 Russell Birdwell film. But she was better known for her roles in such films as 'Moulin Rouge' a 1952 flick in which a creditable performance was achieved not without some effort by director John Huston - so it is rumoured. Also a noteworthy performance unassisted (as far as we know) in 'The Queen of Outer Space' a 1958 Ben Schwalb film, which is as camp as a row of little pink tents.

Other films she appeared in are:
Lovely to Look at (1952),
We're Not Married! (1952),
Lili (1953),
3 Ring Circus (1954),
Death of a Scoundrel (1956),
The Man Who Wouldn't Talk (1958),
Pepe (1960),
Jack of Diamonds (1967),
The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991).
