An American women named Louise Hollis was recorded to have the world's longest toenails in 1991. The combined length of her 10 toenails was 87 inches (i.e. 2 m 21 cm). This made the average length per toenail is about 6 inches long (i.e.15.25 cm).

Louise, the mother of 12 and grandmother of 21 is from Compton, a small town in California. She thought long toenails would make her feet look pretty in sandals. It took Louise two days every week to maintain the nails, but she loved them and her big family also helped her to paint the nails.
