It's certainly possible. For some years now, Murakami has been a favourite to win the prize. In 2012 it looked certain, in fact he was even being publicly congratulated on winning it - bit then it turned out he hadn't. However, as one of the most loved and respected literary novelists in the world, his turn must come sooner or later.
This year is also a good possibility as Haruki Murakami has recently published a new novel. It went on sale in Tokyo on 13 April, with fans queuing for hours to be the first to get their copies. The title translated into English is 'Colourless Tuzuki Tazaki and his Years of Pilgrimage'. Like all his books it was an immediate top seller in Japan (in fact it broke the internet presale records), but it has not yet been translated into other languages.
So unless you can read Japanese you have to wait a while to read the new book, but you can get a general idea about it here.
