How can I celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee properly?

Really, the spirit of the Jubilee is to enjoy yourself and come up with your own ways to celebrate, because it's a one-off festivity with no established tradition. But one of the most popular things to do at the moment is to have a party with neighbours, preferably a street party. There are lots of tips available for ways to plan this. If you've left it a bit late, or parties aren't your thing, at least it's a good chance to chat to some of your neighbours and ask them what they are doing/would like to do - or go to your local council website and see what they are planning. The Jubilee is much more about community and less about family than more traditional celebrations, so it would be good to get involved with something in your area.

If you would prefer a get-together with friends, anything goes, but a red white and blue theme is a must! You could try making a Jubilee cake too.
