Alicante is a city of Spain, capital of the province of the same name, situated in the south part of the country.
Alicante is an important port of the mediterranean and famous seaside resort place. It has many monuments, shopping centers, restaurants and other attractions that make of it a favourite destination for tourists, specially from european countries like UK, France, Germany, Sweden, etc.
I will make a short list of things to do if you visit this beautiful place:

  • Castle Santa Barbara:
At the top of the the Mount Benacantil, it is one of the biggest fortresses of the country. Climb to the top to have an spectacular view of the city and the sea.
  • Explanada:
Take a stroll on this nice promenade, lined by palm trees and stop in one of the numerous cafes and restaurants and enjoy the rich gastronomy of the area.
  • Beaches:
Enjoy the Alicante's great weather and its many beaches, among them one is literally in the city centre, the Playa del Postiget.
  • Barrio de Santa Cruz:
Alicante's old quarter with narrow streets and small houses on the hill that lead to the castle.
  • MARQ. Archeological Museum that won the award to the European Museum of the Year in 2004.
  • Hogueras de San Juan: bonfires festival, spectacular fireworks and fiestas celebrated every year on the 24 of June.
