The actress has three biological children in her lifetime. She had two sons with her second husband Michael Wilding - Michael Howard Wilding (born 1953) and Christopher Edward Wilding (born 1955).

In 1957, Taylor had a daughter with her third husband Mike Todd. Her daughter was named Elizabeth Frances (Liza) Todd, and later was adopted by Taylor's fifth husband Richard Burton. During her marriage to Burton, they also adopted a daughter from Germany in 1964, Maria Burton who was born on 1 August 1961.
