Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "Happy New Year!" in Korean in 3 ways:
| Informal | saehae bok mani bat-a! | 새해 복 많이 받아! | |
| Formal | saehae bok mani bateuseyo! | 새해 복 많이 받으세요! | |
| Very Formal | saehae bok mani bateusibsiyo! | 새해 복 많이 받으십시요! |
- happy: haengbok-hada (행복하다)
- new: saero-un (새로운)
- year: hae (해), nyeon (년)
- New Year: saehae (새해)
