Based on the level of respect or formality, you can say "I am sad" in Korean in 3 ways:
| Informal | na-neun seulpeo | 나는 슬퍼 | |
| Formal | jeo-neun seulpeoyo | 저는 슬퍼요 | |
| Very Formal | jeo-neun seulpeupnida | 저는 슬픕니다 |
- I: na-neun (나는), jeo-neun (저는)
- sad: seulpeun (슬픈)
