117 Olympic records were broken at the London 2012 Olympics, and 44 new world records have been set. An example of records broken is David Rushida
of Kenya, who broke the record for the men’s 800 metres sprint. More famously,
the Jamaican relay team which includes Usain Bolt has also set a new world
record. Bolt himself also broke the men’s 100 metres record.

The first new record was set by Dong Hyun Im of South Korea in the men’s archery, beating both the Olympic and the world record for this event.

It's not possible to list so many events here, but if you click on this link you can see a full list of all records broken this year. You can also choose whether to have the list displayed by country, type of sporting event, type of record etc.

As far as I know London 2012 was a record Games in itself, in that more records were broken here than at any other Games.
